NEW MUSIC/VIDEO: Braids – “Companion” (Synth/Dream Pop//Calgary, AB)


Frontwoman Raphaelle Standell shines her light in the latest track from Alberta’s synth pop sweethearts, Braids‘s latest “Companion”. Her vocals soar over this stripped down and swelling number from the upcoming EP of the same name (out May 20th via Arbutus Records).

NEW MUSIC: Hannah Georgas – “Don’t Go” (Alt Pop/Chill Wave//Vancouver, BC)


Returning with the third album of dreamy ditties is Hannah Georgas, starting the heart wrenching, synth heavy “Don’t Go”. Off the upcoming For Evelyn which drops later this year from Dine Alone Records.

NEW MUSIC: Lizzie Weber – “Love Again” (Folk/Dream Pop//Anacortes, WA)

Swelling piano driven pop builds with with every heart beat in Lizzie Weber‘s “Love Again”. An inspiring love ballad with a touch of 70s folk infused vocals and a full, orchestral melody.

NEW MUSIC/VIDEO: White Lung – “Below” (Garage Rock/Post Punk//Vancouver, BC)

White Lung have never been known to take the softer approach but they do so in their version of a ballad “Below”. Said by Mish Barber-Way to be a song about the preservation of glamour and beauty, her smokey vocals carry the message beautifully to a theater of cry Marilyn Monroe look a likes (including AnnaLynne McCord) in the video below. Paradise drops May 6th via Domino.

NEW MUSIC: Bo Rocha – “Hold My Gaze” (R&B/Dream Pop//London, UK)

London based singer/producer Bo Rocha burst onto the scene over a year but is back with the rolling, R&B infused “Hold My Gaze”. Slow grooving melodies build and take over while Rocha’s vocals hold steady throughout the track below.

NEW MUSIC: Little Melody – “Wasteland” (Synth Pop/Prog Rock//Vancouver, BC)

Synth tones sparkle like rain on a starry night in the ambient single “Wasteland”. The latest track from Little Melody is rich with dark wave and prog rock sounds that twist their way through the track.

NEW MUSIC: Dott – “Heroes” (David Bowie Cover) (Shoegaze/Dream Pop//Galway, IR)


The Galway group Dott are a duo residing in Toronto but their temporary lack of members doesn’t hinder their sound while honouring the late/great Bowie in this cover of “Heroes”. Rich, fuzzy guitar undertones clash beautiful with present, ethereal  vocals which you can hear below and download for free!

NEW MUSIC: Patience – “The Church” (Synth/Dream Pop//London, UK)


With the lack of new music coming from Veronica Falls, front woman Roxanne Clifford has swapped her guitars for synths and drums machines in her solo, dream pop project Patience. Check out the VHS styled video for the vibing single “The Church”.
